It's probably no exageration to say the world will be watching New Hampshire and Durham this weekend when the first openly gay man is consecrated as the bishop in the Episcopal Church.
The people of New Hampshire overwhelmingly chose Reverand Gene Robinson to be their bishop. The US conference of bishops affirmed his election.
The decision, however, is dividing the church.
In a conversation this week with New Hampshire Outlook, bishop-elect Robinson told us he won't step aside, despite the death threats.

This weekend marks the end of the Hampton Toll Experiment.
The experiment made the two-way toll system into a one-way toll where southbound drivers were excused of the fee and northbounders paid double. Governor Benson held a press conference this week addressing his intent for the future.

Longer term, I intend to go back to the exec council, once the winter is over, and look for one way toll system on a permanent basis so that we can take down the toll booths for the lanes that are not appropriate anymore and make this a permanent solution to New Hampshire's traffic situation. I am pleased with the mitigation of air pollution, the mitigation of waiting and frustration that comes with that - whether you're visiting or a resident. And I am pleased with the speed and the smoothness that this was done - there were no traffic incidents as a result of this change - I want to continue to have it that way- and you have my assurance that long-term, this will be a permanent solution assuming I can get the council to agree with me, for New Hampshire's traffic situation.

Jurors in the fraud trial of former Tyco International CEO Dennis Kozlowski got a peek at a vido this week showing a lavish birthday party he threw for his wife's 40th birthday.
The party on the island of Sardinia lasted a week.
It cost just over 2-million dollars.
Prosecutors say half that was paid by Tyco.

Just how safe are we - that's one question probably being asked in the nation's capital today. Yesterday - a government buiding was shut down, after authorities learned that a man had entered the building with what was thought to be a gun. Turns out the media was broadcasting that information, while no one inside the building had a clue that anything was going on. As it turns out the gun spotted by an x-ray machine was a toy gun for a Halloween costume.Makes you wonder how on the ball we all are.
